Mission of Trek

To encourage and enable youth and adults to realize their capacity to accomplish ‘hard things’, thus, enhancing their confidence to overcome challenges and adversity while staying true to their covenants. To help youth and adults recognize that “they that be with us are more than they that be with them.” (2 Kings 6:16)

Personal Purpose of Trek

1. Strengthen your testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and your relationship with the Savior.

2. Gain a greater appreciation of the family unit.

3. Participate in ‘hastening the rescue’ of the dead by preparing family names for temple ordinance work, and ‘hastening the rescue’ of the living by living the gospel more fully and reflecting the light of Christ.

President Monson:

“Throughout my years as a General Authority I have emphasized a need for the ‘rescue’ of our brothers and sisters from many different situations which may be depriving them of all the blessings the gospel can provide. Since becoming President of the Church I have felt an increased urgency for us to be engaged in this rescue effort. As faithful members of the Church have reached out with love and understanding, many have returned to full activity and are enjoying added blessings in their lives. There is yet much to do in this regard, and I encourage all to continue to reach out to rescue. Said the Lord, ’When thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren’ (Luke 22:32)” (“Reach Out to Rescue”; LDS.org).
